Personalized Bookshelf Quilt - patchwork, appliqué and embroidery

You choose size, fabric (or colors), items you'd like on the shelves other than books, and a few book titles for me to embroider onto some of the books. Book layout will be one of a kind, not matching the sample quilt photos.  I will message you to firm up details after your purchase but please read all info below- it’s important. note- “appliquéd items” refers to pieces of fabric that are cut out and sewn on top of the quilt top and stitched on. On my sample quilt- you can see many appliqués. Vase, teapot,  flowers, clock, birdhouse, bird, leaning books, and anything else that is NOT a book. Anything you want on your bookcase I can likely do- if it’s a simple design. unable to get super detailed with layered fabric. I can appliqué names on as well. 

Small Lap Quilt- 
59 x 60” (approximately) rectangular shape; bookshelf is the border
includes 8 appliquéd items of your choice and 5 embroidered book titles. (randomly spaced and diff fonts used- all will be centered and face the same direction, or read left to right on any sideways books) 

Large Lap Quilt- 
77 x 79”  (approximately) rectangular shape; bookshelf is the border
includes 14 appliquéd items of your choice and 10 embroidered book titles. (randomly spaced and diff fonts used- all will be centered and face the same direction, or read left to right on any sideways books) 

Full size- 
87 x 109” (approximately); bookshelf is the border
includes 20 appliquéd items of your choice and 15 embroidered book titles. (randomly spaced and diff fonts used- all will be centered and face the same direction, or read left to right on any sideways books) 

The backing could be all one color or pieced with a few diff fabrics (such as pictured, depending on how much of your fabric I have left) 

*all sizes are approximate and can vary a bit, as these are completely handmade from start to finish 

Note regarding Sample Quilt Photos- your quilt will have embroidered book titles all facing the same way, diff various fonts, centered on each book right side up and the stitching will NOT show through the back. This was a practice quilt and it's also a lot smaller than the small custom you'd receive.

FABRIC SELECTION
I use 100% cotton fabric and cotton batting (inside stuffing) for my quilts. Makes a low loft (not fluffy) quilt that will be nice in the summer/spring, or layered with others in winter. After a wash, it will shrink 5% maximum and get that crinkly, vintage look. If you’d like a flannel quilt or flannel back for extra warmth, let me know! I can also grab some polyester or wool batting if you’d like a fluffy/thick or extra warm quilt. (I personally get too hot with poly batting but lots of people love it!) Cotton is default. 

Take a look at Fat Quarter Shop, Shabby Fabrics, Stash Fabrics, Hancocks,  etc - and search by “PRECUTS- FAT QUARTERS” to start choosing your color scheme. Message me with your fav links! I will make the fabric order; I just need to know your likes and color scheme.

If you are indecisive, I can choose fabrics for you based on your likes/colors etc- just message me and say you are indecisive.

Background- (behind books on shelf)
1. Dark- black or charcoal gray- depending on what fabric you choose)- overall dark look
2. Light- white or cream, depending on what fabric you choose- overall light look 

Why are quilts so expensive? 
Fabric alone for a lap quilt can cost me anywhere from $150-350. Batting is $25-50, depending if I got a good deal. Plus, I have to buy new needles, thread, appliqué paper/glue etc. They also take a LOT of energy and time (and costly materials), thus the price- but worth it. 

Customs are non refundable and non returnable, nor can you cancel an order once I’ve purchased fabric. If there is anything extra we discuss that you'd like to add, Ill make a separate listing for any agreed upon upgrades.Iif I need to make a partial refund, based on agreed upon changes, (crib size, etc) I will do so through etsy after we speak and define parameters.
